Happy New year!!!!

Gosh..This is so depressing. I am spending my new year in Changi International Airport. All by myself :( Hmm.. my friends jokingly say that I should count down and hug everyone in the airport. I wish I can do that but in reality, things are not like that here. No crowd here, except for security guards and airport workers.

I was watching Chanel 5 in the Transit Hotel. I can't sleep. So, I just walk out of my room and explore Terminal 1.

Well, at least my friends never forget about me. Mei Ling, Su Wen, Cherry, Wern Hwei, Loo Fen and Wen Khai called on my mobile to wish me. So sweet of them =D Love you all very much. Back home, I bet they are partying crazily. Hmm, party woun't be fun without me *perasan*

Too hungry, had Subway's Cold Cut Trio just now. Filled with Turkey ham, turkey bologna and salami (I think). I tried it because they don't have this in Malaysia. But then, my type of sandwich at all.

I am writing my blog at the free Internet Access Area in the Transit Lounge. I have to type very fast because the system will log out automatically every 15 minutes. So tedious.

Anyway, Happy New Year to everyone. And thanks for sending goodbye messages but I couldn't read it as I leave my postpaid mobile number with my mum. So, probably she will read it. So, don't type FUNNY text. And thanks to my friends who came to KLIA. Today is the most goodbye I ever get.

Okay, got to go. My time is up. Going back to the hotel to reenergise before my 6am flight tomorrow.

Cheers.

Pre Departure Orientation

Wonder why am I not in college now while my peers are finishing their final semester in January?
Simply because I am turning to a different track. Not the wrong way but just further.

9.30am: Play with my camera in the empty LRT station while waiting for Poh Suan (she's my classmate)

We went to MACEE together. It's our Pre-Departure Orientation.
We are undertaking Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (UGRAD)
Fully paid by US government:)
Well guys, i'm departing from KLIA to Singapore on 31 Dec 2009, 7.30pm.
So, who wanna see me off? I know i know, why bother to come since I am going to be away for 4 and a half months only.
Don't miss me too much (cocky)...you know what, please miss me (begging).. haha..whatever.
Gosh, I have to welcome 2010 in Changi Airport, in the hotel, alone ;-( Maybe I should do like what Marcus said, get some wine and celebrate with anyone there.
And the next day, I have to take a long hour flight to St Paul Minneapolis.

Kalis helped us in our application and all the arrangements that make our trip possible.
Thank you so much=D

Poh Suan is going to Rochester, New York. I bet she get the opportunity to do a lot of shopping in the Big Apple.
Gin Seng on the other hand is going to Evansville, Indiana.

Leaving in less than 2 weeks.
Lets see how independent can I be.
Cheers.

My 21st Birthday

I had my 21st birthday at Italianniese, The Gardens. Initially, they seated us in the middle of the restaurant. Then, we got tranfered a bigger, better and more privacy table without us asking. They have excellent service as the staff are pretty friendly and helpful. Food was awesome as well. By the way, they didn't pay me to write this.

Food was served quite fast after we took the orders

Supposed to start our dinner at 8pm.

However, everyone was late except for Amanda and Su Wen :)

I wanted to order from the Abbondanza menu where they serve large plate for more people.
But after doing some calculation, I took 4 sets of 2 course meal (appetizers + main course) at RM27.90
More new varieties to choose and try.

I heard 3 birthday song singing in Italianniese that night alone.
But none of those are for me.
Hmm..felt kind of pathetic..

All sudden, the girls just wanted to take picture with me.
Trying to distract me from looking behind

yeaps=D I got my own share of birthday songs and cakes.
4 times birthday songs because they were trying hard to light up all the candles
not one cake but 25 cupcakes. my favourite :)

Thanks girls. This meant so much to me.
Anna is veryyyyyy happy

Su Wen, Led and Mei Ling were licking A N N A

Finally, my turn after waiting for almost 12 months, watching everyone's 21st birthday

Eat eat eat. This was one of my best birthday cake ever:)

When I first met them back in MGSKL, they were going through the awkward puberty phase
Now, all become beautiful, attractive, independent and capable young lady
I am so proud of you

A toast to our many years friendship. still counting
(Aiya, Cherry and Suet Ling are not here. well, my dears, this includes you too ya)

As usual, there is always the second round.
At Decanter, Sri Hartamas

We played drinking game, swimming goggle up and duzzy duck
These simple childish games gave us fun time and laughter

oh, special thanks to Mei Ling for forcing me to plan a celebration (control freak)
Lai Yee and Mei Ling were with me during my pre celebration, my actual birthday and post celebration

I really had a wonderful birthday this year. very simple and humble.
but most importantly I am contented.
okay la..very tired and sleepy liao..
Cheers

Today is my day

Had Cappuccino at Alexis. I am so wide awake now. Damn. So, I am going to sit infront of my laptop and type, type, type..
Today is my big day. I am legally 21 now. TWENTY ONE, DUA PULUH SATU.
Can you believe it? My life isn't entirely perfect but I am blessed to be alive to see 21. Thank you God.

Up till now, I have no complain about myself and I love being me. Why is it so?
1. I stand out because I am short.
Ya, it's true. Let me do a little explanation here. If you're short:
  • you will stand in the FRONT line during school assembly.
  • the tall ones have to make way for you while taking picture or else they will feel guilty for blocking you.
  • you're an ideal toy for the bully to play with. At least you're somebody here rather than being an unknown person, sitting at the corner for the rest of your life.
  • it is easier to spot. For instance, at a gathering, people who don't know me may ask my friend "which one is Anna?" My friend would answer while pointing her finger at me "there, the short girl who is holding a big plate of food."
2. I am living in a fairy tale.
Have you heard of Ugly Duckling? (I hate calling myself ugly because it would hurt my mom's feeling.) Anyway, I was a fat ugly duckling, plus, I am short in nature. So, I looked round, bulat, bola. Like Totoro but he is much more cuter and cuddlier :D

This is my triple chin era. I dare to post this up here incase you don't believe what I said.

*As I grow older, I have more problems to worry about and the stress/ pressure is greater. Indirectly, it affected my weight.

3. I am a listener.
People like to talk about themselves, I listen and give a little responses. Yeaps, I could be very attentive to stories, gossips, speeches, lectures and etc. Whoever the speaker is, I would respect him/her by being there with my ears open.

4. I don't wait and hope.
Instead, I chase after any possibility that would make me closer to my dreams. God help those who help themselves.

5. I am a cheerful person. In whatever circumstances, I try to smile and laugh. And I don't get angry very often. Even if i do, I don't appear to look furious and most people know that.

Okay, honestly, I am not contented as I have not achieve any accomplishment...yet..

Why am I making a list of my unique characteristics is because I want everyone to know that I am not afraid of simply being myself. So do you. We make mistake, so what. Pick yourself up and do it right the second time.

Happy Birthday to Me.

Cheers.

Thank You Angel

Last night, Loo Fen droped by my house and gave me this. She seriously noted that this is not my birthday present, it's for my dry skin after working under the sun. I did not refuse the gift as I would normally do because deep inside I was touched. I must humbly accept this. Thank you Angel.

And thank you Zach for unwillingly buying me the coffee ice-cream in Old Town..hehe..

I think you should see this. I was organizing my documents and gathered all the passport-size pictures. Spot the differences?? I don't believe it myself. Maybe because I look in the mirror everyday and never notice any changes.

The first from left was taken on May 2008 for my college student ID card.
The second is for my passport, June 2009.
The last was taken recently for my driving license which I used it for my international student ID card too :-)
Cheers..

Rain rain go away

Hey everyone, I am back to Maxis BMW roving team. Yahooooo.. We worked at TV3 Jomheboh on Saturday and Sunday.

At first on Saturday, it was not pleasant at all. 6 of us have to walk around under the burning hot sun. I almost gave up and wanting to quit because what we experienced was beyond our normal job scope : ( Deep inside, I was complaining, wishing the rain would come. The sun block could not protect my skin from drying and darkening. Sob sob sob.

After adapting to the whole situation, I focused all my energy on smiling :) Then then then, God answered my prayer. Initially it was cloudy with a few drops of rain. Few minutes later, there's cats and dogs.

Got free raincoat

Didn't get home till 11pm because we waited for the sea of people to go home so that we can get the BMWs out of that place.

We didn't miss the fireworks...wahhhhhhhh

Anyway, what I am trying to say is, we should always be optimistic. At this juncture, I have lots of problems that I don't know how to solve. I may frown very often and not acting like my cheerful self. But I bet everything will be okaaaaaayyy soon.
Cheers.

Pre Birthday Celebration

Because our dear Princess Wei Ling has to fly to London next week, I celebrated my birthday 10 days in advance with Wei Ling, Lai Yee and Mei Ling. As I remember this is the first time I actually planned and did something for my birthday. I don't really think that celebrating my birthday is important. So, for the previous years, I let it passed just like that. But they say we are 21 once.

First and foremost, singing (shouting) in Red Box plus, Pavilion.

I am the only girl in my family. If I were to have sisters, it would be them :)

Nevertheless, we shopped in Sungei Wang and Pavilion. I bought a black dress.
Tea time at Food n Tea

Dinner at Palate Pallete.
A recommendation by Peggy.
It is a fantastic place because I love their artsy decoration.

My bridemaids or the godmothers of my children in the future (if I were to have any) hehehe..
Thanks. Love you girls.

Lastly, chill at Sky Bar, Traders Hotel

I am blessed because I have these girls by my side in thick or thin.
Cheers
